The AHRA often played pretty foot loose and fancy free but still, I have a hard time believing they put Fredrick’s car in the AA/SR class as claimed in the “Unreal Roadster” article shown above. No front brakes, no fenders, hood, and an extreme engine setback that wouldn’t even be legal in Altered class.

I purchased a louver press from a body shop on the corner of Applelton and Hampton 1965. He had a 34 coupe body to die for.

  4. I don't remember the name of the guy but I am sure someone will. From the late '50's into the early '60's there was a guy from Milwaukee area who used to run a black '57 Chevy Bel Air at the Grove all the time. Great looking car, no sponsorship that I recall. Broadway Bob used to have some pictures with the guy and the car. The guy was a typical looking fellow for the time with black slacks, white t-shirt and black hair. Looked to be thin with average height. I used to know the name but I'm too old now. I know he was successful with that car.

  5. Seems to me that there was a shop in that area between Oak Creek and Husher that did custom fiberglass work. The guy had a billboard up at the Grove.

  6. Before I forget to ask does anybody know what happened to that red Caprice convertible that Broadway Bob had?

  7. Old rod from northeast Illinois.

I drove it 27 years. Great ride. Built by my friend Bob Janda.
