History Cars made into Sedan deliverys

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Maverick Daddy, Jan 21, 2023.

  1. Was there a whole lot of shaking going on in your sedan delivery, after the prom ?

  2. IMO, converted 4 door.

  3. Especially since it was built on a Chevrolet chassis.

  4. My old 50 delivery and I did some artwork to know what my old 37 Pontiac 4 door would look like as a delivery. art37Pontiac.jpg deliveryN48chev.jpg

I am guessing that they modified what was available, as not many tudors got to NZ shores.
62 tudors made it here in the ‘30s
    175 fordors made it here.

Lol, lets just say I got more "education" that night than 3 years sitting in class. Still makes me grin after nearly 50 years.:D:D:D

Seeing this thread makes me wish I had a picture of my dad's car Frankenstein (you have to channel Gene Wilder when you say it) when it was still out in the sunlight. It was a 34 Ford coupe with an F1 firewall, the back of the body was a 30-31 A tudor sedan with the windows welded up. The back was a mismatch of parts from an old Plymouth (like 36-38, not sure) and a narrowed section of the gutter and trunk lid from a 69 Olds 88.
It's still sitting in the back garage, but if I took a pic of it now, it wouldn't do it justice

  20. I am sure I will own a sedan delivery someday. This panel truck conversion trailer came into inventory recently. 4C3D49A5-5144-4AEC-A0F3-3CF7FEB4D3B7.jpeg

I'm a bit late to the party here, but these are a couple of photoshops of a '29 Plymouth sedan I've been working on.

And this is one I saw online on the AACA forum. It's supposedly a very rare factory built 1935 Dodge

  24. Kinda the opposite; after the war my father-in-law cut the back off several new Chev sedan deliveries and spliced on the back of pre war sedans. Shortage of new cars and high demand made it profitable for the body shop where he worked to do this.
