yes, in the USA that would be correct.

    would look neat.
Not sure of the best way to go about hinge placement, but could possibly be worked out somehow…………

  9. Citroen Traction-Avant is not the most attractive car but the factory did make a 4door commercial with 2 piece tailgate and 1 piece tailgate.

    Hello,

Starting off with a station wagon seems like the easiest way to make a change over to fit any ideas and styles. Especially, if one is going to make a sedan delivery. Since most sedan delivery cars/vans have a blocked out rear quarter panel in the place of the station wagon rear side windows.

First, I wanted to make an inexpensive station wagon that had the style of a Nomad wagon, but not a Chevrolet. So, a Dodge Lancer station wagon was the starting point. By modifying the roof supports and making it a two door Nomad style, it changed the common 4 door funky look of a family wagon, although this version was small. So, for a small family would be a perfect fit.

But, for growing families, perhaps a 4 door hardtop version would look better than a extra post or two.

Now, the stage was set for one last version of a station wagon converted to a sedan delivery.

Back to a two door Nomad style station wagon sedan delivery offering privacy, a little more support and sound deadening for those quiet nights (plus extra warmth) sleeping on a cliff side secret surf spot in Baja Mexico. Yes!

    Note:

But, for my first hot rod/surf wagon, I was lucky enough to get a real sedan delivery with a smooth side panel that was a factory build and not a conversion from a station wagon also, built in a factory ***embly line, then converted. My teenage hot rod/surf transportation vehicle came in handy.

Then, after a million miles of So Cal coastal road trips and forays into Baja, Mexico coastline, that Flathead sedan delivery performed so well for reliability and privacy. When my wife and I wanted similar privacy that a “woody wagon” could not offer, we bought a project 327 powered 40 Ford Sedan Delivery to meet our road trip/camping needs. After many months of repair/rebuild and new additional help, we had a wonderful daily driver and smooth handling road trip hot rod for our privacy road trips.

Bought this one in Benicia, California in '67. The side windows must have been options; too well crafted to be backyard. HPIM3135.JPG

That is a cool long roof! We recently sold a 55 Ranch Wagon, but still like long rooves.

The '58 Plymouth turned out good. The two door wagon has not been oft seen for a long time. A vehicle this cool should ideally exist in greater numbers.

This 33 plymouth will be getting the treatment down the road. Plan is a delivery/shop truck vibe but hot rodded. Probably fenderless

In the early sixties Ford made the Falcon in both a two door wagon and a sedan delivery.
I grew up in a 61 two door wagon so I’ve always had a sweet spot for it but I’ve also liked the delivery along with the Ranchero . I think the novelty of the delivery would were off but the wagon and the Ranchero wouldn’t.
    But that’s just me

Father-in-law did the opposite after the war; his boss acquired some new surplus Chevy sedan deliveries, he cut off the back and spliced on the rear of pre-war sedans. Hot commodity as there were very few new cars available at that time.
