My favorite part at this moment is when Doc Hudson(Paul Newman) is first seen as suited up as crew cheif in the final part of the movie.
anybody know the story of the fire truck? didn't the guy who was supposed to do the voice die? I saw a memorial to him somewhere. I think he was a bunch of different voices at Pixar.
whated it about three times in the last couple weeks with my son. We also went to see the movie when it came out.
Great movie! I have watched that many times with the little guy (2 1/2yrs) when he comes over for the night. That would be awesome if there was a sequel with hotrods in it!!
fillmore was b***ed on Bob who lived in Hackberry Arizona, his dad was the founder of the cozydog......one of the most peaceful Hippies I ever met;kustom56.dont count on it
My children love this movie and I have a soft spot for it too. 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. He is very into Lightning McQueen
Great, great movie for kids and adults. I am collecting all of the diecast CARS characters with my 12 y.o. daughter. Can't wait for the sequel in 2011 or whenever. Even though there are no hot rods there is a Model T and there are a number of customs.
I've got 3 girls, and my 6 year old loves Lightning and Mater more than Barbies. She got some $ from grandparents for x-m*** and she bought herself a Lightning McQueen blanket at the Disney Store Best "car" movie in years( Worlds Fastest Indian was about a bike).
If I recall correctly, Jay mentioned the spark plug lights on the roof of Flo's V8 Cafe flash in the same order as a Ford Flattie's firing order..... Great movie, I watch it ALMOST as often as The Blues Brothers & AG....
Doc's sound effects are authentic Hudson Hornet. Also in the credits is the name Ivan Zaremba, who has and races the last Hornet Smokey Yunick built in '99. That's also my favorite scene in the movie, obviously. I jack the sound up really HIGH! Hud
WHERE did you get that decal? I've looked everywhere!! and the soundtrack is also a great one to crank up while driving.
My 2 year old lad is a huge fan also. I have no idea how many times we've sat through it, and it never fails to hold our interest. Costing us a fortune in merchandise...
Fillmore was Bob Waldmire? Man, I never realized that.... I met him once by chance in Vega TX while I was doing 66.There he was, just puttin' along in his VW bus covered with hemp and hippie stickers and peace signs. REAL cool guy. Great artist too.
Very cool movie. My son and I love watching it together. It gets us both excited to go "play" with our cars. I love all the cool background stuff, like the tire tread vapor trails.
Whether you "care" for cartoons or not, this is a must see for anyone into cars. Trust me/us, you will not be disappointed. Watch it with your grandson, make a special night out of it, and he will remember it for the rest of his life. Have your wife take some photos of you and him watching it, eating popcorn, etc. Try to come back and tell us you didn't enjoy it.
Michael Wallis is a great writer! I'm almost done with his Billy the Kid book. (which is an excellent read btw)
My 20 month old only watches the Piston Cup.. He loves the big race. I have to turn the surround sound up for him to get the full effect.
John L***eter is definitely a car guy and put alot of p***ion into this thing...lucky for me is that I get to watch it alot with three little ones at home...my favorite part is Flo's Drive in with all of the cool details with the valve cover awnings with spark plugs the air cleaner roof etc...very cool movie
