Pretty ***y looking Avanti. Has it ever been completed, or at least moved further along?

I must be part Swede because that is what I consider a sweet roadster! I'd like to see more of that car.

I'm too brain-dead this morning to come up with a semi-sarcastic, funny one-liner about rakes, raking, having raked, or being raked. And, since I hate yard work, you're gonna have to settle for yet another gratuitous picture of my truck.

There she is... *** up in air. '****ty old bag, rides around like she's a cat in heat or something. :D

Play nice and take care of eachother, y'all. Have a great Saturday!!!

    Hello,

You see the nicest old hot rod trucks in a coastal parking lot during a warm sunny day. This was one of our short errand days road trips. When we cope with the pandemic isolation protocols, we usually top off the short drives to our favorite coastal beach view locations.

It was a surprise to see this cool yellow 40 ford pickup in this oceanfront cliffside lot. The 5 spoke wheel set up was nice. It was a good contrast to the look of the truck. With such a color, the rake angle is very noticeable as it stands out near a dark surface.

This area used to be a giant gr*** and dirt field from the Coast Highway all the way down the cliff to a private beach enclave owned by the family behind the Los Angeles Times newspaper company. There were a few trailers of different sizes and they were ****tered around a swimming pool and a private tennis club.

The members had the only swimming pool and tennis courts only steps away from the sand and ocean along this portion of the Orange County coastline. Out in the water, to the North was the famous Salt Creek Beach surf spots. (and since 1984, the m***ive hotel complex on the cliff top currently called the Ritz.) To the South was the Dana Point Headlands. This beach was called Strands.

Even though this place has changed over the years, it was one of the first places that actually had government rules, a sponsored project for low income homes that were built adjacent to this road and now parking lot. Currently called Niguel Beach Terrace at Strands Beach. The homes are surrounded by million dollar construction homes on one side and the beach parking lot on the other. But, at one time, there was a low income limit for anyone wanting to buy a new home on this beach side property.

Resales were restricted and it remained the lowest cost homes anywhere along the oceanfront in So Cal. Over time, the place was overtaken by greed and the low cost homes became million dollar homes as currently priced.

It is a nice parking lot with unlimited views of the ocean, coastline north and what it offers. A respite from the calamity of the pandemic and some solitude. Those once low cost, affordable ruling, homes are now a part of the high dollar coastal homes along this particular coastline. But the area offers other items for all of us to enjoy. The surf, white sand, beach activities, and for a while, a great place to walk on the empty sand from one point to another. YRMV

If I look at it too much, I don't see much of a rake. It's like repeating a word until it doesn't sound like a word anymore. Then, sometimes... I catch it just right...

It's utilitarian and traditional with just a hint of levity as suggested by the fake wood graining.
