Carson tops??? anybody???

    Carson’s done well were nice. Probably practical in Vegas. But it’s going to be a one off these days. I don’t think anyone’s around doing them as a specialty. Kind of like chopping a soft top and keeping it functional. You’re on your own, or a high end shop for a one off.

    thanks for replying,.... the car is a 38 with a gl*** 37 body...it came with the convertible top frame... so part way there... look to me like any good auto upholstery could cover it in stay fast black...I don't car if it's a lift off carson style. as I probley never take it off once it's on..it's a roadster style body... no windows... but the shade would be nice....

    I would think any good upholstery shop could do it. But Carsons should be white, IMO.

    I agree,.. but maybe just stay fast on the bow I have, or use the frame to do a carson top???

  11. North Hollywood Auto Upholstry in North Hollywood Ca still does Carson Tops, you have to provide the frame, they'll cover it, one of mine pictured here [​IMG]

    I don't recall ever seeing a vintage picture of a "Carson" top that looked bad... seen plenty of failures in the proportions these days.

    got to love it when the top fits that well... is this some thing that you could do for others?
