I have a set of Carter AFB dual quads on a 283 (#4758 and #4761). This was an old late 50's SCCA C-modified race car.

The car ran great all summer until last fall when it started to stall when braking. If I coast to a stop with the clutch in it idles fine (well enough) but if I try it with hard braking, clutch in, the engine stalls out.

I haven't ever worked on Carter carbs... could this be as simple as a float level problem? Any other possible areas I should check first?

    Thanks,

    Steve
