Hello All Can I use a Carter W-1 (574S) from a 216 ci, on a 235 ci bored out .080 over (246 ci)??? I also have the Rochester that came with the original 235. Im debating between the two. Thanks in advance, J
It will work a little harder but the vacuum signal will be up….Do the base bolt holes have the same spaceing….
I haven't gotten that far to check the mounting bolts, i just happen to removed it from the other motor and the option popped up, i figured i ask. Ill be better off keeping the Rochester where is at, correct?
You'll have to slot the mounting holes on the W1 in order to bolt it to a 235 intake. The center to center dimension on the 235 carburetor is 2 15/16, while the W1 is 2 11/16.
If you have the Rochester might as well run it as everything including bolt spacing is set up for it and not the W-1. I am currently trying to get 2 W-1's to work on my 235.
