Technical CARTER YF REASSEMBLY HELP [edit - resolved]

I'm attempting to reassemble my Carter YF 1 barrel carb, but I'm having issues keeping the rod in place. The little spring that secures it keeps pulling it out of the jet.

I'm wondering if there's a trick to keep it lined up so I can get the top of the carb back on.

Disregard, I had it****embled incorrectly. The arm that holds the rod was on top of the upper spring. It needed to be on the bottom.

Correct now.
