Event Coverage Cash Reward/Prizes & Rules for the "Tech Month Smackdown"...!

Seriously... every year we all go through then "Cabin Fever" phase of stupid threads and I'd like to see some substance during this winter Build time...!

What we need is an incentive to "Build vs. Bullshit" tech thread that'll inspire all us idiots to complete our projects this winter versus "BS'ing a line of crap" about what we think we're going to accomplish...!

I'm willing to offer a REWARD of $100 cash (Same as money) for the best Tech thread between December 15th 2008 to January 15 2009...!

This means I'm willing to donate $100 PLUS other contributions to the winner for "Tech Month"...!

I'd like to see others contribute to the prize towards this "TECH MONTH" as well and make this the "Grand Daddy" of all tech threads!!!!
I remembered that Baleigh had sponsored one of the "Tech Week's" for a chance of winning one of their machines... I thought that Prize brought out some of the BEST threads to grace the HAMB!

My Idea is to "POOL" a large cash prize and have Some "ALLIANCE VENDORS" can donate as well...![/COLOR]

Next are the rules for the Tech thread writers... only current builds or ideas not previously featured in other TECH WEEK related threads...!

So if you've been documenting your idea for the past few months and haven't submitted them in previous "TECH WEEKS"... "YOU'RE GOOD FOR THIS ONE!!!!

The "TECH Thread" must be a relatively "Low Buck... home built" idea that is do-able for the average HAMB members... meaning... minimum use of elaborate equipment... such as lathes, bridgeports, or sheet metal machines etc... but not excluding....!

Full builds are welcome especially if they incorporate "Old School" ideas in the "Spirit" of the HAMB and as long as they have not been entered in previous Tech Week threads!!! ( Old School Examples like El Jefe's survivor model A Roadster that had Clever "Bolt-On" modifications of the chassis and such...!)

Who else is willing to step up to the plate and contribute to this "Tech Month" idea...???

Who else has had an Idea itching for a tech thread that'll blow the minds of everybody else in this worldwide garage...???

Fully documented builds, Interiors, Electrical, Suspension, Safety, Body/paint mods, or constructing your own metalworking center from scrap conduit and duct tape... whatever you've got... "Put it Up... and see how it flys!!!

HAMB'rs all over the world will benefit from "TECH MONTH"...!!!!

Doesn't mean there can't be O/T treads... just means they won't be in the money...!

Hells yeah, but also here might be an idea. What about just flat out build threads? I find them to be sometimes more informative and inspiring than just a "how to do xxxxx" thread. After seeing some of the builds on this site its humbling.

Obviously building your own car is its own reward, but sharing it with others can be rewarded?

Is there a limit of one Tech article per member or can you enter several?

 

My inner nerd has gotten to me.
Will the votes from multiple threads by the same author be totaled, averaged, or just left to stand individually? Multiple threads could really reduce your odds depending on how its worked out.

 

Cash is tight here but I still have a bunch of inventory left from the Past Lane Auto days. I'll kick in these 3 posters. They are high quality reproductions that I did many years ago. Only compromise from the original is these are printed on heavy gauge stock rather than poster board. Color separations were hand cut and they were printed on a restored mid 50's vintage Harris offset press. Sent postage paid to the winner.

 

I think I will start taking odds on some of these guys:

Casny, El Polacko, Sellers, Bass.....who else am I missing?

 

I think 3 cast air cleaners from Gear Drive Speed & Custom would look great on top of Dickster27 carbs...
