Real nice project - lovin the look of it so far. Your 31 coupe was the inspiration for my project - OMG this one might get me building a roadster next!
Your last post was yesterday so I assume your out driving it.........right? After all this is not your first day on the bus so it shouldn't take more than a couple days to get it roadworthy. Frank
Only a couple of taillight choices 'work' for '28-'31 roadsters...or so I have always known. (or 'thought') These Hudson units SHOULD have been applied as the 'right stuff' all along. Perfect! Beautiful body/frame fit, superb sheet metal work. How are you shaping the rectang tube sub rails? (look to be some 'tight' radii...)
Cool roadster. I like the tail lights. Can't wait to see what you do with it. See if you can track down some history on that thing.
Chris , love the roadster... The Hudson taillights are killer ...way to go on thinking out of the box and putting those on the roadster... Said for Calori coupe .. I have never seen them on anything else on the road....keep the updates coming.. my hats off to you... nice build
After having a look at your blog i can see its a LOT further along than you're giving off here mate! It looks absolutely awesome though, and i love the tail lights. Great choice and one that has clearly been overlooked for a lot of years.
Some frame pictures. I'm using deuce rails with model A front and rear cross members. I built the X member. Front crossmember, riveted in. X member with T5 transmission I got a little creative with the 39 pedals.
My engine choice, for this car was an early 265 Chevrolet, built in 1956. Having owned alot of cool engines in the past, except for an early Chevrolet, it was time to finally go for it. The small size was also a factor, since the car will have a full hood.
