For Sale: 55K OBO It kills me but it’s time to let my 1931 Ford Coupe go. I have other projects I’d like to finish including my house. I bought this car in 2007 from Aaron Kahan (Burbank Choppers). It had almost no rust as it spent, it’s entire life in California, until I moved to Austin TX. I built the entire car from the ground up. Drivetrain: 1956 Buick 322 Nailhead, 6x2 Offenhauser, intake manifold with 6 (six) Stromberg 97 carburetors. Only 4 of them are “on” right now, connected to a straight linkage made from vintage aircraft parts. A rebuilt generator charges the battery in the trunk. Pertronix ignition. The custom made headers, can be un-corked if desired. A 1939 Ford top loader (three speed) is connected to an Offenhauser #309 transmission adaptor. Mcloud clutch. F-1 Ford truck pedals. Oil was always changed every 1500 miles using Valvoline VR1 racing oil with zinc. Suspension: Dropped model A front axle with split model A wishbones, 1936 Ford rear end (3.78 gears) with modified 36 wishbones and torque tube. Model A leaf springs. Steering: Mid 60’s Mopar cowl steering. Frame: 1932 aftermarket frame rails, model a rear crossmember and flattened model front cross member. K member custom made. Paint: DuPont basecoat clear coat for the body single stage for the frame and suspension. Painted by Jeff Savage, Indiana. Upholstery: Oxblood leather interior including headliner. Tires: Firestone dirt trackers 5.00-16 in front and 750-16 in the back. Still good. Wheels: 1940 Ford wheels. 16x4 in front and 16x4.5 in the rear Brakes: Hydraulic 1940 Ford in rear, 1939 Lincoln bendix in front. Dual master cylinder. Newer Stewart Warner gauges. Chrome garnish molding, shifter, windshield frame, pitman arm. Guide headlights. 1948 Chevy taillights. Working dome light. The car has glass and all the windows open and close as they should, including a roll down rear window. The doors and trunk can be locked and the doors close nice, without having to slam them shot. The car was featured in Rod and Custom magazine 2009 and various other publications, such as Rolls & Pleats magazine, Powerglide magazine, Deadend magazine etc. I have driven this car a lot. There are a few small nicks on the frame and suspension but the body is in great shape. This is a car that you can get in and drive. My last “long” drive was in 2016 from Austin TX to Lafayette LA for the Bayou round up about 1000 miles round trip. Other than that it rarely gets used since my main car is a roadster now. The only disclosure I have to make is the fact that it drips a little oil but it has done this since day one. California plate and club plaque not included. The car is registered in Texas as an Antique vehicle and is located in Austin TX. Anti theft device installed.
