car with an iron glide can be push started as they have a rear pump in them....(just FYI)

I'm actually going to need the bellhsg spacer to go in a '58 Biscayne when the 283 goes back in, as the one that came off the engine is cracked...

either gotta weld it or find another....so what I'm saying is....yes there are folks that use those pieces. If you were in my neighborhood I'd buy that from you. Hopefully someone locally will have one at future swap meets around here...will find out when I start shopping...

Seen to remember that the piece that goes between the tranny & engine used to be used with some adapters to use a Chevy V8 with other transmissions. I would at least not scrap that piece.

Just saw a rebuilt (ironglide) on epay for I think 1300 bucks.Maybe I will keep it around awile.I will sell it for half that now.Ha ha.I will save that Adaptor plate deal for sure then. But if anyone really wants it send me a pm.I am sure it would be really expensive to ship because it weighs around 200 pounds.Or half the weight of the fatest girl that's ever tried to kiss me.

    Beware

Six cylinder CI 'glides are in a different case when compared to a V8 one - starter is in a different location, so the raised area for it in the body of the glide casing differs, and they will not interchange.

I have a '57 cast iron powerglide matched to a '57 235 in my t-bucket. I'm always searching online and at swap meets for parts and pieces for the engine and tranny whether I need them or not. A lot of people do the same thing. I suggest you put it on Craigslist it at $125 OBO and see what happens. If you have to store it for a while, clean it up, sit it on a pallet, and cover it with a small tarp.

ha! quote of the month right there!!

you know that the day after you weigh it in, someone will offer you $300 for it. Can it live under a tarp in the yard without ruining it? or would that not be acceptable to Mrs 55 gasser pickup?

Well there is no Mrs.gasser pickup.I just have a total of 4 transmisions lying around at my dads shop. That's where I have to work on my stuff. You know how it is if you aren't going to use them try to get rid of them.I guess it will sit outside and I will ask around if anyone I know wants it.
