Technical Cast Welding

    Look up the Henrob torch. I have been welding cast iron for more than 15 years. Its easy, no preheat or special cooling needed. none have broken.

    I used nickel rod on some exhaust manifolds 46 years ago and it’s still holding up
     
  3. I cut them off 200 ford 6 cyl manifods
    That's exactly why I chose to use the cast flanges...last time I ordered flanges they were 3/8' as best,I had to add a 3/16 homemade plate to make it Thick .

    Remember to weld safe - no bare feet, be sure to wear flip flops.

    Plug welded a cracked thermostat housing on a 250 ci...cast iron wire on my mig

    I brazed the exhaust elbow on my Grey Fergie tractor. It was broken off at the flange. Preheated, brazed using cast iron flux and post cool down by bolting it on the tractor and slashing a couple of acres at my daughter's farm. Still good after 5 years.
