I have installed the new CC851 springs with rather disappointing results. The first picture is with the 850 springs, the second the measurement after letting the jack down, and the third is after setting New wheels and springs.jpg new wheels and 851 springs.jpg new wheels and 851 springs after settled.jpg a day. So a final result of 3/4" lift although the unloaded spring height was 1 1/4" higher that the 850's.

This is about what I would expect from the CC851 springs. I would see how they drive, maybe take a coil out of them if you want it lower. Or you could have used the CC850 springs with a spacer, which I may do with my car.

Cant go lower, need it a little higher. I had an Energy Suspension isolator 5/16" thick which I also used with the 851's. I can change that to a 5/8" thick one but not sure that is enough. I may have a bit shaved off of the back of the wheels, or I may attempt to sell these wheels/tires and start over. To low to turn lock to lock now.

That's a bummer. I wonder what stock springs would look like?

I really want to stay with the variable rate springs so don't plan on using originals. Not sure what the answer is yet.

"This is about what I would expect from the CC851 springs"

I kind of thought the final ride height would be the same difference as the unloaded.

Try a .750 spacer. I used one on my car to help negate the drop the Versailles spindles offer. I'm planning on pulling them out and going with a .125 inch spacer and 3 " blocks this winter. If your not in a hurry and I can get them out in a timely manner I'd be happy to send you mine for a test run.

I suspect you'll get another inch or so drop after they've had some miles put on them. My problem came up because of the very light weight of my drivetrain, so, I've got to ask.......wern't you trying to make a decision on your engine? Has that been done? If not, it seems like you've gotten ahead of when to do the suspension fine tuning imho. Just a thought.

I think my disc brake kit put the wheels outboard a little and I run 15" wheels, 215-75 tires up front. It still s****es when going out my driveway, minor. I tried to get a good offset wheel (Vintiques), did the best that I could find. My front springs are the stock ones with 1 coil cut off them. I liked the CC850s, great look but tooooo low.

"wern't you trying to make a decision on your engine?" No Rich, that decision was made early in the build. "Try a .750 spacer" Where did that spacer come from 56longroof?

I got my spacers from Global West. If I remember correctly the early mustang spacers are the correct size.

Thanks 56longroof, and thanks for the offer to send your spacers, but I would like to get this sorted out soon.
