Sounds like the weather is going to be good this Saturday. Hope its a great turn out for vendor's and buyer's!
I did find a good deal...two (rough) 32 grille shells for $200. Also found a bent spoke 18" Kelsey Hayes for $15.
Got too busy finishing up my shop and didn't get there. I bet there was everything I needed and more as per usual when I cant make it. Only 30-45 minutes away too. Oh well, too many irons in the fire once again.
I found a nice Edelbrock 2925 intake manifold, a manual steering gear, valve covers and a small hei distributer,
I was there. Did not find all that much. Vendors were way down. Especially on the 1/2 mile racetrack back stretch. The crowd also was way down as I could tell when I pulled into the spectator parking lot the same time I have been doing twice a year for 20 some years. I hate this swap meet decline trend, but like everyone else I know why it is happening.Weather was one of the better Fall CR swaps though.
Iowa Dept of Revenue no longer allows a temporary tax permit, they now require a permanent tax number. This info was sent to all previous C.R. vendors, and some of them might not have wanted to register for a tax number with the state just so they could sell at a swap meet once in a while. I talked with a lifelong swap meeter who sells all over Iowa, as well as Chickasaw and Hershey. He said he has tax ID numbers in those states as well, but if he was a casual swapper he would just give up. The tax man is the cause of low vendor numbers around here!
