If you're thinking of the cloth that goes on the inside of the roof that's known as a headliner - if you search with that term it should be easier to find how to do them. It's pretty straightforward for the most part - they hang on metal rods like a curtain, and tuck under at the ends, but to make one fit right involves some steaming and both stretching and shrinking of material to get it smooth. I believe on a '54 you may be able to find them ready made to install but I don't know what they might hit you to ship one to Russia.

I was told that it was necessary to heat hairdryer. But in my car, there are places where you want to beat headliner. In some places this material (which beat the headliner) has worn.
Steam works even better than a hairdryer....use a tea kettle to steam out the wrinkles after installing it.
