Sometimes I wish the **** I said got deleted. There are no rules regarding censorship on a privately held en***y, but when the gubbmint steps in that's when I get mad. And if you're hanging around my garage there are certain things you can't say.
I am completely willing to talk about this... What am I doing wrong? How can I do better? The only consideration that I request is that we don't become a board full of drama and all stuff not car related. I think its easy for some people to forget that the HAMB costs money and even those silly little posts have to be paid for. I simply can't afford to make all of the people happy all of the time... Other than that, I'll try to do better - give me some direction. I'm all ears.
Why did my 'Ugly cars' post get closed? Nash, Hudsons, Crosleys, Volvos can still be ugly RODS! I'm tired of seeing the same old same old. Different can be cool too... that was uncalled for!!
I went back and looked at that post. I remember closing it... I saw a glimpse of the late model with flames and headers out the hood and closed it without reading your post... I take the blame for that one as it should not have been closed. Feel free to repost it...
I hear what graverobber's saying, we do have a history of ugly stuff and I think it's important to look at it so that the same mistakes aren't repeated......except in Florida.
i cant stand opinion driven posts... we are NOT all friends, would you say some of the **** typed here face to face? i doubt it, cause you would probably look and feel like an ***.... luckily the internet provides us with the ability to DELETE things and CENSOR ourselves. none of you are right and none are wrong. if the HAMB turned into a 10 post a day forum it wouldnt detract from its usefulness... id rather see quality over quan***y. then again, all the useless **** posted here doesnt affect how much time i do spend reading stuff i want to read.... free will, i have the choice to read what i want. so my post isnt a suggestion, just an opinion driven observation hahaha,,, im a ****in hypocrite.
No-I'd say everything I've ever typed here-I don't have that thing called 'tact' most people possess. You'll also notice I rarely piss people off on here because I'm not a **** stirrer. I'm in total agreement about the opinion posts, but keep in mind this is an opinion driven board, in which we are all of the opinion that our style of building cars is better than say, Boyd or OSR. They may be two ends of the spectrum, but they share the same spectrum none the less.
The question is:Where to draw the line ? Contrary to what some people like to think, "Freedom of Speech" is not absolute. Just because we live in a "free" society,doesn't mean we get to say anything we want,anywhere,anytime, without some consideration of the bigger picture. ----- I can tell you from experience,it takes a LOT of work to keep a board this big running smoothly. The health of the group depends on moderators keeping things from getting too far out of line. More often than not,they are very lenient.
RYAN,? why can anyone surfing the net ,check out the members profile, alot of info in that page, the state the city or town, and the cars everyone owns, would not be hard to search in them to find a car someone is looking for and go from there,i know you cant email or go further without registering ,but many other sites i am on you cannot look at the member profile list with out registering first, i know it only works with the honest people but i was thinking you could rearange that function , you request filled out completley , main concern is the info without evene registering and i thought the rule was you couldn't have scissors in a theatre on fire ,in case you ran with them, that is a rule i always followed
I think that every once in a while someone does need to slap you and tell you you had a dumb idea, so censoring is good in moderation. About the whole profile thing, I guess I get that concern, but couldnt you always just not fill it out all the way?
well in the read this section when you join ,they want it filled out completey ,so everyone can know where you are from, or the other items, see what ryan says about it i think i asked it ok? or best i could?

Ryan, I hope you read this... I will tell you that without this place, I wouldn't be the same person I am today. I always knew what I liked, but didn't know how to acomplish it, there just isn't very many people around where I live that think like I do. I took ALOT of **** for bein a young stupid ***** when I first started postin here. I am still here though, not much latly but I am tryin to make a comeback. Without this place, I would have ended up just another person with a generic personality. I am glad I found this place. Its my internet home... I don't care if you delete everything I say, as long as I can still read and learn from this place. This is in a sence your house...you wouldn't go into someone elses house and say and do whatever you want.. its just not the way things work... You do what you want, its your house... and your doin a great job..
