I'm dealing with an issue that I'm hoping someone has come across before. Due to a snug fit around the bellhousing, I need to run a hydraulic throwout bearing whether I like it or not. Upon the trustworthy recommendations of some friends, I'm interested in running a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch for the Muncie M20. The issue is that they only make them in a counterweight ***isted diaphragm, and all the hydraulic throwout bearings I find say they aren't compatible with counterweights. I ***ume the issue is clearance between the counterweights and the bearing housing or hose fittings? Is this something that can be resolved with some light grinding on the bearing housing for clearance? I contacted Centerforce to find out and got little to no help. They don't make a hydraulic throwout bearing for a Muncie and don't know of another brand that is compatible. I find it surprising they don't know how to make likely the most popular size hydraulic throwout bearing work on their likely most popular size/spline clutch, but apparently it's so. Before I abandon the Centerforce idea for another brand, has anyone run a counterweight ***isted clutch with a hydraulic throwout bearing? If so, what bearing did you use? Did you have to do any modifications to make it work?
That's what I needed to know. I appreciate the response and will grab the clutch and throwout while they're on sale.
Pretty sure that this was the one in my Malibu. https://howeracing.com/collections/...2870-hydraulic-throw-out-bearing-stock-clutch
