There was a little run this last weekend on the Central Coast. Starting point, downtown Santa Margarita... Hope this guy brought his camera... and then we were off... 1st stop...Jack Dewar's Museum in San Luis Obispo... Inside... Jack fired off a couple Bangers... Then off to Mike Boyack's near Avila Beach... We took the long way to Morro Bay... ...and stopped at the marina for a quick rest break... David Wheeler's T roadster was my favorite of the day... Then back to Atascadero for a BBQ... A little BBQ and a lotta BS... It was a fun to run around the back roads of San Luis Obispo county. We saw some neat country and got to hang out with a great bunch of hot rodders. With any luck....we will get to do it all again next year. Neal
It was a great day! There are some more pics of David's T here... http://highway99hotrods.com/Events/NHRP12/index.htm
Thanks for the link to the extra pics. Is David on the HAMB? I'd love to see some build shots. Speaking of, how's your RPU coming along???
Speaking of pictures, none other than Bob D'Olivo from Petersen Publishing fame was riding shotgun with Chuck Jennings. He was taking pictures all day, love to see some of those. As usual, the Jennings family outdid themselves, and Neal had another outstanding cruise. One of my favorite events each year!
You California Guys have all the fun.......great coverage, Neal......thanks! I suppose Dillard will be posting soon as well? CB
Okay , Now I am pissed. Sitting out here on an Iron Island in the off the Calif Coast. Just missed Santa Maria and now this run. Is it a public adverstised run? I am at Santa Margaritta alot ,I keep a boat there. A road run thru some of my favorite backs roads would be cool And the fact Central Cali coast bbq is the best
David is not on the HAMB. He is very talented...he brought this to the BBQ a few years ago... 1/8 scale, hand built. Here is my pile. No real progress since I tore it apart. Too busy building steering gears... All but one that I posted were Bob's... Neal
I should have been more watchful, eh Don? A shame that my late pal Jim Moore passed....I know he would have been along on this one!! Thanks for the additional pics, Don! CB
Neal: Looks like you put on a great little run. Living in the heart of fly over country makes me jealous of all the neat doings on the left coast.
