    Good day all,

I am doing a little gorilla marketing and was curious how many people would be interested in putting a centrifugal supercharger on their rods? I am referring to the ProCharger/Vortech/Powerdyne/etc. belt drive style. Please comment if you desire as to the pro’s and con’s of these on your rides. If you are interested, what other accessories must be accounted for (A/C, PS, etc.) to make it most desireable?

    Thanks.

Tain't old; not interested. If it were a McCulloch VS 57 - yeah. New? Nope.

Procharger is down the street from me, I know a couple guys there. They sell kits for most v-8s. Thanks for stopping by.

    Goodbye.

Well the only thing you did right, was say right up front what your intentions are....

Introduce yourself, get to know this place then ask again... if you still feel the need.

Just trying to see if there is interest in these things with the people here. If there is - then maybe an opportunity to supply you guys with something you want. If not - so be it; no harm no foul. I have a '51 AD Chevy Pu with a 235/harper manifold with 3x1's and split header - so it's not for me but different strokes for different folks.

Yes... but you still need to go here first.

I don't make the rules, and I'm not trying to be a jerk here... but you would know if there was interest if you hung out, read the rules and checked to see what's going on here. Not saying there's not interest. Just saying the HAMB is the HAMB...

Supposedly the new rule is no intro required, however when your first posts are pushing your bobbles.....

Actually, the McCulloch was renamed Paxton in the late 50's and were supplied on Studebakers when Studey chose not to ante up for a bigger displacement motor for their lineup.

    Rayd -

Folks tend to treat newbies pretty rough around here especially when your first posts are close cousins to spam. Better to establish one's self with 500 or so posts - then ask the question.

If that's the best ya'll got then we're set - newbie or not. I'm a hot rodder myself and I wouldn't have been here at all if I hadn't been lurking for a while. Besides the '51 I have now I have had a '57, '56 and two 55 chevies (sedans and hardtops) plus raced. I am skulking for an old FED now that will be hilborn injected and looking forward to the races at MoKan this summer - plain forgot about them last summer. I am associated with one of the centrifugal sc's - i did fill out the profile - even honestly - and was part of Vertex mangetos in the past - love them things and nothing beats the look and performance!

Was honest and upfront in my start of this thread and only looking for other's opinions - yeah I know - we all have them. Besides, nothing better than a lively discussion to kick things off.

Gorilla marketing? Rattle some cages, fling some sh*t, generally act like an ape? :) (Not aimed at you, rayd, just funnin' with the term. [SIZE=-1]Try 'Guerrilla' next time.)

Heck I got one, maybe I am to young to be old school enough for yall. Guess I could soak it in acid, let bird's chit on it for a week, hit it with a hammer a couple of times and then bolt it back on. Y'all would probably think it's cool then.:)

  26. I have been studying doing the VS57 thing for awhile now, BUT all the McCullough/Paxton guys that I've talked with have told me to go the Paxton route. I believe the Paxton design came about in 58, maybe 59. I was researching the hell outta those things so keep me posted.
