Getting ready to ship my block hugger headers out for ceramic coating.

Planning on taking the sharp corners off the block mounting flange edges and the exhaust pipe mounting flange.

Looking for advice on any additional action I should take.

Should the collector area be smoothed out more and the manufacturer label taken off?

Should anything be done where the pipes join the block mounting flange?

Trying to get the best quality and appearance for the finished product.

    Thanks for any help.

It all depends on how crazy you want to get with them. A little simple rounding of the edges and cleaning up the welds a little would be all that I would do, but there are some guys who would have them looking like one smooth piece of steel by the time they were done.

Those welds from the back may not be the prettiest way to seal up the tubes to flange, but they are functionally ok and a weld on the outside sometimes encroaches on the room for the header bolts to go in, so you might not want to mess with those.

Personally, I like mechanical things to look somewhat mechanical and untouched, but, like I said, it all depends on how **** you are about detailing. :)

Wondering how effective the ceramic coating would be at getting into the gaps between the header tube and flange as well as behind the manufacturer's logo on the collector?
