Whats the formula for figureing total CFMs. I have a Hilborn 265-c-8d with 2.050 throttle bores. Trying to figure out much flow this thing has. Thanks in advance.

  2. Somewhere around here I've got a formula for how much CFM is needed for rpm and cid but I've no idea how to figure it on bore size.

    BTTT for you.

Yeah Ive found every other formula pertaining to CFM except how to come up with it...go figure. According to Hilborns sight CFM isnt really a factor with the FI, but Im playing with the Desktop Dyno and wanted to get the figures as accurate as possible.

It would be my guess that the cfm rating would be moot because the flow obtainable by the cylinder head could not possibly be equal or greater than the injector.

oh you wanna know how much each bore will flow or all together..hmm let me see..how tall are the trumpets? how deep is the casting from top to bottom i might be able to hook you up with some math stuff for it.

It will flow what ever gets sucked past your valves. CFM is just a number to compair one carburator to another and not much use at that. You know that at 100% your car would flow half the displacement times RPM. For all practical perpuse, using desktop Dyno your CFM is infinite. I think.
