Champion Plugs

    In the last six years, I bought new Champions for a flathead and a Y block. I wouldnt give you a nickle for a truckload of them. Forty years ago? Yes.. Now? Stick to AC, or NGK.

    I used Champions for years but about 15 years ago i started getting a lot of duff plugs, changed on advice from a mate to NGK and never had a problem since.

    I cant ever remember getting a duff NGK plug. And they are easily available off the shelf in the heat ranges I use. I did get a real run of duff Autolite race plugs at one point, it seemed like about 1 out of 10 was nfg straight from the box. Put me right off them. Could have been a local supplier got a bad run or something, but its a real pain in the *** when you are swapping plugs at the track under time limitations, and 1 or 2 plugs are dead. Next they call your cl*** to the lanes, now you are are trying to find the plug that isnt firing, and change it, by the time you find the bad plug, they have given your cl*** second call, then it really gets fun...
