nobody seems to know anything about this A. I posted the top picture on "Drag Cars in Motion" and while someone correctly identified the track as Salinas (I though it was HMB or Fremont), no one has identified the coupe...I would love to know more about it myself...
I'm not positive ... but I believe it was originally Jim McLennan's car. Earlier versions of the coupe appear at the 0:35 & 0:59 marks of this video (narrated by @John D): Perhaps @Born a HotRodGal can ask her father (Andy Brizio) for more info / pics ... Terri ???
By Jove I think you got it! wow......check out the steering rod on the lower cowl. Anyone got that figured out yet ? Digging the slots, fat rubber and stance. Way cool.
@Jalopy Joker - That's the video (& still images) I posted on September 29, 2014 ... see post #4 & #5 above.
Here's the original description of the coupe Original Henry Ford steel body chopped and channeled 4", freshly rebuilt 350/350 with under 3000 miles that runs beautifully, TCI Frame, Power Brakes, Curry 9" rear, etc. This car is California ***led as a 1931 Ford Coupe. Been in a few magazines. A lot of the stuff is done too it but here is a list what I'm going too change 1. Wheels & cheater slicks 2. New steering wheel & shifter knob 3. Two piece hood and louvered sides 4. Louvered trunk 5. I have a set moon disc (get them polished) 6. Half interior is done (complete it) 7. Chop 1-2 inches 8. Repaint w/ letter graphics and pinstriping Some smuck kicked or backed into the drivers door its fixed but in primer. I'll take more pictures once it gets too my garage
Ok everybody I was wondering which version should I build! 1st version they built 2nd version they built 3rd version they built I'm leaning more towards the last one but let me know
Nice car you picked up there... But I would leave it alone or do your thing with it , if you try and make it look like that champion car it will just look forced ... Kinda like everyone with "race" numbers on their street rods these days,...
I'm loving the idea of this build. The inspiration car is killer. This is the version I would go for: And yeah, I think you should rechop your car... get it as hammered as the original!
Thanks Ryan mine is a 4 inch chop there's might be a 6 incher Yea the only differences between 2 & 3 is rear wheels, hood sides are missing, plus single push bar on back
Plus I looked for history on this car and they don't even claim it on their website , In there history section
Found this video just by accident but shows this yellow coupe racing against the Champion speed shop coupe. Yellow gets spanked by champion, some good stuff on here ......half moon bay Looks like the video isn't showing thru the HAMB app on iOS, but does work when you load up the regular hamb website
