It must have been 15 years ago... I was in Wichita for the High Octane Art Show and Rob Fortier made the trip out to cover it for Custom Rodder Magazine. I had been reading Rob's stuff for years and was super excited to meet him. One thing lead to another and we became quick buddies... A few years later and before entering grad school, I decided to go to SoCal and look for a job. I stayed with Rob for a month or so and he really helped me find my way - both in life and career... He's a life pal.

And I guess that's why I'm so proud of him. This week, he was handed over the reigns to Rod & Custom Magazine.

My first reaction? One of my best pals is now the enemy?!?!? Joking, of course...

It's gonna be fun to see what Rob can do with the ***le. He knows cool...

Anyway, just wanted to make that little announcement. CONGRATS ROB!

I liked Robs work with Custom Rodder, I hope to see more 60's customs in R&C's future.

Kevin turned R&C around at least for me. Rob did a great job at CR. Best of luck to two talented guys.

Rob picked my suede blue 54 chevy for a Custom Rodder Top10 pick at Columbus GGs...
All the high-roller big dolla guys were pissed a "primer" car won and wouldn't speak to me or my wife the whole day in the awards area.:D

That was in 2000 or 01. Maybe before it was acceptable to be non-big bucks in the award area.

Always been a RF fan since....:p:D

That IS pretty good news. It's great when somebody who has a p***ion for things can get into a spot and let that shine... I know he likes trucks and all, but this has to be a better gig. Congrats!

Wow... That ****s. He did a really good job in my opinion. Not to take away from Rob, who I am sure will do great, but I sure liked what RC had become.
It seems magazines can't figure what the hell they are or who they want to sell to.
