My -52 customline needs a new pinion seal. Now,I have the seal but the Shop Manual says theres supposed to be a gasket under the oil slinger.Mine dosen't seem to have one. What kind of a gasket should there be?Between the bearing and oil slinger?
Also,is there a proper way to put yoke back in without using the special tool the manual tells me to use. ?

That is what I found with the Dana 44 in my wagon. There is a gasket behind the seal.
