Have you put any thought into what you're going to do with the radiator, grille, fenders and hood? There's a little extra room for the radiator to go up into the hood, but you may need a cut-down radiator depending on how much you channel it. I've seen '40 ford cars channeled with everything up front dropped, too, but the wheel openings raised. The other option would be to channel the cab, leave the fenders and pancake the hood. No small feat for a guy who's just learning. Pretty complex shape to the hood and you'd have to do some work to raise the fender mounting features on the cowl. This is a much easier operation on a 30's truck where you don't have fenders and such to deal with.
