I used the second seat (one behind driver) out of a 80's-90's Caravan plus I got it for free. The little short seat fit perfect I just needed to reupholster.

  3. I'm using these in my Sedan. But its not channeled real deep, only about 4".

I'll be using seat tracks from a '64 Impala Sport Coupe.

i just finished my 28 dodge pu this summer and i ran into a problem with my seats . i channeled the body approxamatley 6 inches.. in doing this my trans tunnel was quite high.. i looked every where and tryed different things (boat seats sports car seats racing seats etc) and what i ended up doing was take both seats out of back of caravan and stripping them down to bare metal saving the foam for later and cutting each one so i ended up with a very comfortable seat thats tailored for my car and the foam gets narrowed then spray glued back together .. and a bonus feature is the bottom has springs once seat is disassembled all hardware and upholstry pealed off foam its a brease from there....they say measure twice cut once .... uh thats wrong ... i measured few times but still had to keep trimming till right ....took a long day to make seat with foam mounted i picked up 2- 5dollar seat covers they are very comfortable and look good too .... and another bonus ..they were free

  5. Any chance you could use the buckets from a late model pickup that have the seat belts and head rests as part of the bucket?

Count me in on the Caravan center seat as well. A few small modifications, I narrowed the lower frame in the front to better follow the body shape and I carefully cut the hard mounted back away from the bottom and made it pivot so it would fold forward. It easily mounts right to the floor, and my 27 is channeled 6". It's actually pretty damn comfy.

I used a Plymouth minivan center seat in a '27 T Roadster pickup. Fit perfect.

My 1928 A roadster, has very deep chanel, plus I really like bench as its lot more room for riding others as well as me. So I made everything seat wise. an added storage behind it. Sewed my own as well, there is a tech I did. IMAG1363.jpg

Is there enough room under the seat for a driveshaft tube, or do they sit pretty flat to the floor?

They sit flat on the floor. I modified the rear of the bottom of my seat to clear the drive shaft tunnel.

My 29 roadster isn't a channeled car but I am running cowl steering and have the 18' steering wheel coming out at a comfortable angle. Doing this didn't leave much room for seat thickness and leg to steering wheel clearance(especially with a clutch pedal). My solution was to run tractor seats. I made brackets to mount them at a nice angle and they are very comfortable.
