I have a 28 tudor body on a 30 frame. i was looking at how to go about channeling it and noticed the frame is wide enough to make this harder than i thought. always ***umed i could remove the center floor bars and the body would just drop down over the rails but it looks like im going to have to turn the body upside down, and cut the side rails out too along the seam.

is this right or am i missing something? Is the 30-31 frame wider than the 28-29?

    Frames are the same.

You can do it a few ways.

    1. Remove the cross braces and a little bit of the siderails near the rear axle, then slip the frame inside the body diagonally. Since you have a 29, removing the cowl will make this much easier. Then bolt the top of the floor siderails to the bottom of the frame (you'll need to make some of those mounts).

    OR

    2. Set the body on top of the frame. Only trim away the little bit needed to allow the body to drop over the frame. Fabricate new mounts that attach to the side rails and bend upward and over the top of the frame.

    OR

    3. Remove the complete subfloor ***embly as a unit, and raise it into the body (or fabricate a whole new floor).

Which one you choose depends upon your skill level.
