Is there basic ch***is dimensions and or minimum wheelbase size to follow I will be using 75x50x3 RHS ?

  2. Most of our cars are between 112-117" wheelbase.

    75x50x3 RHS is fine.

PM me if you want more details/photo's, or info, there are a few cars being built in Brisbane, and we'll be up there racing in August at the Nostalgias...

    Cheers,

I wish I had something more creative to say, but you guys put us to shame with the quality of your work. Well done. Keep us posted on the new cars please.

Umm, okay, I'm confused (not that I'm new to that:rolleyes:) in the last two pictues, it looks to show a spring behind transverse leaf setup, then the next appears to be a hardtail. So, is that the same car? Or maybe different setups you have tried? Or have I completely missed the mark?

Okay, thanks, I appreciate it. So other than personal preferance does there appear to be a benifit on the track hardtail VS suspension?

I've gone back and forth on the big question: to spring or not to spring. We've run 60ft times in the 1.7's so I guess unsprung is working for us. I think if we wanted to convert ours to run three times farther (at the Texas Mile) suspension would be wise.

  12. I personally believe that rigid is the way to go for these cars, as

    1. there doesn't appear to be any distinct advantage in the results from 60ft times,

    2. the time & effort to fabricate, plus the added weight doesn't seem justified

Personal prefference will rule the roost, but there doesn't appear to be any technical benifit.

    Cheers,

Thanks, Rand Man and Drewfus, I have no frame of reference there so I thought I should ask.

Does the rear mounted spring not try and wrap the axle at all with all the weight pushing down behind the axle? Just wondering, I wouldn't have a clue if you lied to me or not hahaha.

    Lovely Ch***is'

  15. no....nup....not sure what you're implying with the "weight pushing down behind axle" has got to do with things, but the spring rate is on the stiffer side for the car I think you're reffering to, so ******-all ch***is roll.

    Cheers,
