I'm building a 47 chevy for my dad and I ordered front and rear suspension for it from County Line street rods in Ionia Mi. ( Andy the owner is a great Guy to deal with.) I also ordered a radiator, all the parts were from chassis eng. well I get the radiator and its way to big to go in horse collar so I call Andy and he call chassis eng. and the tell him that Jim the owner of chassis eng . will call me and get it right. My cell phone rings and on the line is jim I give him the size of the radiator, he says he'll call me back he calls the rad. maker and calls me back and says there making me a new one right now, some how they have two different dimensions for the rad. and they made the wrong one. I think its pretty good when the owner of a big company like that calls you and fixes the problem for you ! Pat.
That's releaving...when I get back on track w/ my '26 project, I was looking at using some of their stuff. That's good to know that they're some of the better in the business! Thanks for the info!!
Chassis Engineering IS THE BEST. Jim and Denny do a great job, at the shows, and on the phone. I have built 2 cars using their parst and all fit and work great. When I was on the road doing sales I happen to stop in their place. Jim took time out of his busy day and give me a tour. If you need any parts for you project...contact them.
I think it's important that we send business to any companies that treat folks right. I will be ordering suspension parts soon and will go out of my way to use CE and be sure to mention your story, too. Thanks for sharing.
One of the most helpful companies I've ever dealt with. They take a genuine interest in service AFTER the sale, unlike a lot of others. Frank
Chassis Engineering was very helpful to me in building my 29 coupe. I had a problem with some parts fitting their stuff, and it was not there fault, and they helped and modified their parts for me anyway, didn't charge and got them to me in just a couple of days. I would buy parts from them again. I went and picked up a chassis at their place, and got a tour of the place from the boss, a t-shirt and some good advice, too.
Absolutely! I have had shitty attitudes from other companies and they have lost out on selling me thousands of dollars of merch. I have a CE M2 front end, and a rear spring kit as well. The products are high quality and they fit great. Theur customer service was friendly and helpful, which (I was suprised to find) is rare at a lot of places.
I have the rear suspension kit in my truck and it went together very well. Also very helpful on the phone.
Chassis Engineering...great company, and great T shirts too. Roy Lewis (CE's founder) told me years back that he'd get the best advertising bang for the buck on those great "T"'s he sells... I've bought their A front crossmembers, dropped forged steel axles, the 4 bar kits, and other little widgets... good outfit, IMHO
I can only chime in... I ordered the "air plane" shocks for my car from them, but the top bushing did not fit my custom application (F-1 mounts) ...not their problem, but I asked if they had a solution: Jim sent me a set of correct replacement bushings at N/C Like they say on eBay: "Will buy again"
More props to CE. I wore out the shocks that came with the CE rear spring kit in my car... called about replacing them. They offered to sell me another pair or gave me the Monroe part # to grab at the parts store, mentioning it would save me the shipping fee. They also explained that I'd hafta swap ends with the bushings on the Monroe shocks... but it was in a helpful way, not in a "buy more stuff from us" way. A while back, I ordered their front sway bar for my MII front end. They told me those were on back order and that it would be a week or two before they could send it. Gave me the option of placing my order or waiting... the card wouldn't be charged till it shipped. Less than a week after that call, I was unboxing the new sway bar. And I keep telling people that the rear spring kit on my 52 Chevy is the best money I have spent on that car.
