The wife has agreed that I can start the work on my 53 chevy. I wanted to go with a Chassis Engineering bolt on front end. Where is the best place to pick one up. Are there any Alliance vendors who sell CE? Thanks for all your help. I am very excited to start.

Look in the YOGI'S catalog or call CE, they are in IOWA and they ship stuff all the time. The bolt on kit really works well and the threaded sleeve allows you to adjust height and to "even up" if every things a little off level. If nothing else CE can put you on to a more "local" dealer. I'll vouch for the kit. I used one in my '51. I installed it in a weekend. I have a build log on my blog.

Jack up the car
Disconnect steering
Unbolt old front end & drop it out - then wheel it away
line up new crossmember, drill a couple of holes, bolt it in.

done.

I ordered mine direct from them...great kit!

6. I know Vaphead and Alex Gambino are alliave vendors for C.E.

7. Call them direct and ask for Denny or Jim. Either will be happy to get you set up with a kit.

8. I have always had a question about their crossmembers. They all come with strut rod braces, do you have to use the braces if you go with full lower A-arms? The braces look like even if you do not use the strut rods they would help keep the crossmember in alignment and tie it farther down the frame to keep it from getting pushed under so to speak. Anyone know if they are necessary?

Riley Automotive. Under the vendors list. Vaphead is his HAMB name.
He does offer alliance members a discount. So why not sign up,help the cause, get a discount, reduce global warming and most important - LOOSE THE FNG LABEL
