If anyone needs some Ch***is Engineering parts, she has them really marked down right now. Not a big selection but there might be something you need. The only problem is the shipping costs--seems a little high. http://www.ch***isengineeringinc.com/online-swap-meet/

Yep. They marked the prices down and the shipping went up.

You can add it to your cart and then click on the shipping estimate to check the price. You can click the X next to the item in your cart if you decide not to purchase the part.

It's a real shame about that shipping. I clicked on some small crossmembers and boxing plates all probably shorter than 3 feet. About $80 worth of parts. I'm guessing 20 pounds of stuff. The estimated shipping to me about 150 miles away from CE was over $110. I cancelled the order.

$17 for shipping for a shock adaptor kit isn't to bad especially considering what I'm saving

Yeah, I got quoted about as much as I was looking to buy for shipping no matter what was in the cart so I ended up buying nothing.

Too bad they are doing this on shipping. Their parts are great and I have ordered many parts from them over the years and shipping was reasonable. A local shop here had a bunch of their parts on sale a while back for 50% off-we loaded up!!

I just wrote up an order of several items and the shipping was going to be 95.00 for five items, the largest being a dropped 32 style front crossmember.
Ended up just ordering the offset side mounts for my 292 in my 48 and the cost is 15.00 while the shipping was 22.and change. Left a note that said I thought the shipping was excessive.
I should note that they have a lot more listed today. If you only want one part the price with the high shipping is probably still a deal on the new stuff. They may be dreaming a bit on his grill collection though.

Shipping seems to be a flat 22.50 on small items. Per item.

I ordered one of their aluminum master cylinder remote fill reservoirs. I figured, what the heck for $25, plus the $16 for shipping, it still seemed like a good deal. Not exactly the look I was going for, but we'll see what it actually looks like before I decide if it goes on the car.

I thought they should just sell the business, and be done with it. They would have probably made out better, rather than selling off existing stock bit by bit. The rodding community would have still had parts, employees would't be out of their job, and the new owner could carry on the family name. But what do I know; I'm not a business major. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

A while back when I was going to order some stuff from them I noticed the online shipping price just added a set amount for each item ordered. When I asked about it they said it was an error, their online system wasn't sophisticated enough to figure out the correct shipping on all combinations. I got a refund on the excess shipping charge after getting the parts. Might be worth a phone call if they have some things you want.

I bought some parts last night, they sent me a conformation, and I went back to the site this morning check the status, and it's just a "thanks for the memories" message.

Sorry to see CE go. I've never been unhappy with their items. Get them while you can.

I felt like I did ok.

I got a full drop axle front end kit for 325.
And a disk brake kit for 125.
After shipping was 615 to the far corner of washington.

Although shipping was very steep. I feel like I got a pretty good deal.

I just wish they would have sent me a tracking number.

They have changed thier phone number and email to HEIDTS #'S so I am wondering if Heidts bought the rights to producing thier parts?

I hope someone got the rights the product I've used a good amount and it would be a shame to see it all go to the way side. Also hope the quality stays the same.

  30. If someone does get the rights, they will get everything offshore, get a bad reputation and unfortunatly put CE's reputation in the ****per.
