I'm not to worried about seam problem , it;s only the front bar that has the seam to the outside if there's a big prob with tech ,I'll cut it out and put in another. Thanks Tim Jones

Thanks Don , Hell everytime I work on this thing I end up changeing or tweeking something to fit, When I raced my own cars back in the day I'd go buy a rolling chassis, stick my motor and trans in it and go, Building this one from the ground up I've learned more in the last year than I ever did going out and getting someone else's car.,although Working on the funny cars and top fuel cars we did have to rebuild them from the ground up after burning them to the ground a few times:eek: , and having pretty thick skin I welcome everyone's comments if they see something they don't think is right, I might not allways change what I'm doing but I do take into account what they are saying, Like I said I just want to go out and have a good time before I'm to old to get in and out of one of these things:D Tim Jones

Well Tim guess its time for you to be on the Bumps n Brusies crew....

" Like I said I just want to go out and have a good time before I'm to old to get in and out of one of these things:D"

Thats why I built mine and run it at Eagle, its so much more fun to just run for the fun of it and not worry about anything, besides its a blast to see RJ do his thing on the start line man what a rush, brings back my teenage years and to this ol fart thats what is priceless ............ however that being said It is a struggle to get in and out after a few runs, the ol body just ain't what it used to be and the car is getting smaller each year, its shrinking!!!!

Hell Carl I've been on that crew for years:( Well got the tabs for the body all welded on and hung the body on the car, Ended up not being able to use the fastners Rocky (Toymaker) gave me they were a hair to short to work for me, So beings I have about a 100 extra allen head bolts left from the funny car tin work I used them to attach the side panels and I'll get a few dzus fastners for the cowl, also finally welded my bracket for my push bar on to the car,now just need to get a quick release pin for it, so my crew? can pull the bar off before a run Tim Jones

Here's a couple more pics, A while ago I decided to make a catch pan to go under the motor in case I would ever toss the rods outa this thing:eek:, breaking a motor is bad enough ,but haveing been on a clean up crew at the local track when I was younger I thought this might contain some of the oil, plus it gives me something to practice my tig welding on:D had to dimple it for the flathead drain plug, the seam in the middle was because I misread my tape measure:confused: as you can see the car has a floor from the front of the motor all the way to the back of the car, the motor pan overlaps onto the belly pan , Four bolts and it drops out to change the oil, Tim Jones

lookin good Tim, how wide are your tires?? look like 10.5 to me might want to think about something smaller. I started with the 10.5's and went to 8.5's and its going in the right direction...............

Yes they are 10.5's , I was going to get a diffrent set this winter along with the rest of the pieces to finish this thing, did you go to the 3.90 gear in the rear on your car? thats what I was leaning towards, I was thinking some 9 inch pie crust tires , how tall would you recomend? , BTW I mounted a 75 gal fuel tank on the dragster hauler so maybe some time I'll try to make it out to Cal. to race with you guys:D, or aleast we can maybe meet up at the HAMB drags in MoKan, Also I'm taking my other block to the machine shop next week to have it checked out for the blower motor, looked pretty good hopefully it checks out OK Thanks Tim Jones

Tim do the calculations for what you want to accomplish, I went to a 3.42 on the rear and right now am using 28.5 dia tires. The old ones were 30.5, and the new combo will eventually give me the 120 i'm looking for...............

  15. Talking about how hard it is as one ages to get in and out of the car as Carl mentioned. A couple of years ago I was running at a Nostalgia race at Shannonville Motorsports Park. Vern Christy who works a lot of the PMRA races took time to come and crew for me. We were sitting right up by the staging lanes with the car and were watching. The announcer announced my class would be running in about 20 minutes. Vern looked over at me with a smirk and said. "Dulmage, Shouldn't you start getting in the car now? It will take you that long to get in and buckled up". Wasn't much I could say because it had a ring of truth to it.
Anway go for it. Do it now while you still can. If it winds up like it did for me it will be the most enjoyment you have had at the sport in a long time if not ever. Even if it takes 20 minutes to get in or out of the car.
    Don

Got the tank welded back together today, only had 3 pin holes to fix when it was done, Not the prettiest welds I've ever done but for a paper thin tank I'm happy, tonite moved the old mounting tabs and its back where it belongs now I have room to mount a small battery between the rails

A quick post before headin to work, killed three birds with one stone last night, Needed to do my water fill to the heads, so I had a set of water fill necks from a 426 I had for the funny car, decided to make a set of water tubes that I could bolt the cool lookin fill tubes to and still keep them stock, incase I want to use them, then also Since I didn't have a dash or firewall my HAMB dash plate to mount on, I combined it all together , and this is what i came up with, Used the fill tubes, figuered out my water lines, and mounted my dash plate , now just get the angled hose pieces and do some polishing , Tim Jones
