Kinda what I was thinkin Carl, but I was thinking a fixture coming off the rearend houseing that would line up to a ring welded to the reverse rod with a quick pin I could drop in, to lock out reverse, I was gonna try to work something up tomorrow at work, ( On break, of course):D

another update, I wanted to put cool lookin shift knobs on but didn't want plastic ones , did a search and found Patrick English was selling Bronze skull shift knobs, Being I'm a fossil collector, I thought Perfect!!:D Ordered two from him and I have to say thet are cool as hell :), just had to drill and tap them and polish them alittle but here's how they look, also made a reverse lockout today, Has two pins that drop into a tab mounted to the houseing, I'll make a small cable to hook them together so i don't lose them:(, Tim Jones

Still another update from a few weeks ago, Made a driveline cover ,The two 1/4 inch thick tubes side into one another so I can get at the driveline, Another design I was thinking about would be a tube split down the middle that bolted together , But this way should give me enough room to get to the collar to side the driveshaft back for removal , hopefully I don't need to tear into this setup very much:eek: Tim Jones

It was good talking to you also hopefully one of those guys can keep you on the right path, Nitro can be pretty unforgiving when you get lost on your tuneup:(, We used to have a saying about fuel car racing , the quickest way to make a million bucks running a Nitro car , is to start with 2 million ,you'll be down to 1 million in no time:eek:, Tim Jones

Guys, in addition to loving on your homebrew FED's I absolutely dig all the VINTAGE tow vehicle talk!!! To me - it ADDS a whole 'nother facet of fun to this!!! Love it!! I recently towed my dragster to Beaver Springs, Pa. (just over 600mi. round trip) and it was a total BLAST even the part where my buddy ran it out of gas on I80 in the middle of nowhere!! Take one little nap...
