the Next project of the day was adding another brace to the inside wheelwells, Because I used the cut outs from the side of the body they followed the shape or conture of the body, this made them arch out towards the tires, So I added a brace to the rail of the tinwork that runs along the weelwells to pull them in shape, Used a clamp and a block of wood to sweeze it all together , also heated the fiberglass while sweezeing it so I wouldn't break or crack the fiberglass, Then ran a bunch of bolts along it to hold it all in place,,,,,, Tim Jones

Well I still don't have any money to buy the new third member and other parts for the dragster,So I'm back to makin stuff for it again, I was looking at the fiberglass wheelwell humps and decided to make some alum ones to match up with the tinwork ,me and my buddy Huck got them rolled and tacked together today, unfortunely the welder gods weren't on my side today, couldn't get a good bead going for the life of me today, so I figuered I go home check the fit and try tomorrow ,Still very hit and miss on my alum tig welding, Here's what I have so far, BTW the the pieces of wood on the car are because the body is loose from the hinges right now,,,,, Tim Jones

Uh just a question Tim why the extra weight of alu tubs, I know you want it to look pretty but at the expense of extra weight??? I'm trying to drill holes in everything to knock the weight down...............

Hi Carl , Not trying to be a smart ass, But whenever you tell me sometime it's always get me to thinkin, So me being my curious self, I weighed the glass tubs I cut outa the car,and the new alum ones, I also opened up the openings alittle for tire clearance ,So those pieces were with the glass tubs when weighed , They weighed about the same, tho the glass tubs were about 1 Lb more ,BUT I added some fiberglass attachment tabs for the alum tubs to attach to the body so it's all the same, And yes I have too much time on my hands:D,, Tim Jones

Busy day today, 3 pups got new homes , Plus they took a wrong turn and got about a half mile down a dirt ( mud this time of year) Road and got stuck to the floorboards , Took the trusty ole Dragster hauler down and pulled them back to the gravel road, Wasn't sure If I could get down it let alone pull them out, that thing is a powerhouse!!:D But back to the dragster, got the glass tubs cut out and got the alum ones fitted,, just have to weld them to the rest of the tin work, Needed to glass in some mounting tabs to hold them to the body , so I waxed up the alum tubs and glassed right on the top of them, after the glass cured popped them loose , and had the perfect fit, Here's some pics Tim Jones

Cool Tim I thought you were adding the alum in addition to the glass, thus adding more weight but alas you didn't. Workmanship looks great maybe you could come to the left coast and do some repairs for me .....I hate glass work.....

Mostly Brains and common sense:D Oh wait you mean the car,, I'm needing a 9 inch carrier with 3.25 caps because of the 40 spline spool and axles I got , even with the price of a new carrier I'm still in it cheaper than if i bought new 31 spline axles, Brakes, and still have to machine the driveshaft, decent slicks ,,plus all the odds and ends I'm forgetting, when I started the car I told myself I wasn't going to break myself building it and buy parts when I had the extra cash, still sticking to that, plus still paying the doctor bills:mad:, in the mean time I'll just make stuff for the car and truck to stay busy ,, Tim Jones
