Always admired his cars and acomplishments. Seems there was nothing he couldn't do once he set his mind to it. Condolences to his family and friends. RIP

  3. On the bright side, it looks like the apple didn't fall far from the tree and Chauvin's son blew away the old record with his father riding on his shoulder!

Rest in Peace Chavin, your car's in good hands...

God speed. From the owner of his old car. A true car builder! The stuff he has made has been good to the Freudiger family. Its been running for many years. It will be sad trying to get his to trade the 50 modified for the rear engine modified. He always came around and admired our work with his old car. The man was always giving my grandfater; Philip Freudiger a cigar. I just talked with him at the 200mph lunch in Pamona. God speed!

  7. @Jeem ... I'm almost postive that the Freudiger-Cline #50 modified roadster is Chauvin's old #102 modified roadster.

I posted a few pics of it in @Ryan's Chauvin Emmon's Indy Influence thread:

set a new two-way average record of 269+ mph (with a top speed of 274.390 mph)

That is the car...And it still sets records today. Not to mention that the car is on the 2009 speedweek plague. The car is going to the salt in two weeks to break a record of 260+

It was fun to see all his old cars; thanks guys. And that really old photo from Beeline - wow! My nephew Chauvin Mac will carry on; what a great record. Andrea Emmons
