That is cam and distributer speed. Easy enough to make the generator to turn 1/2 the crank speed or as suggested any other pulley.
Got my 55 cylinder head back from the machine shop. .065 taken off. Matches the gasket better than stock. I will have to CC it and see how much difference there is.
After years of working in the dirt and borrowing shop space from friends I actually have a space to work and all my tools in one place! Pretty stoked to be able to go out and tinker away in my slippers....
That is nice! A word of caution: Keep it in order, Otherwise your tools, parts, and junk will kick you back out into the dirt. I have a great shop that is filled with "treasures" I might need someday. Sadly I'm running out of somedays.
No heater unfortunately. It is a weird air to air heat exchanger for the house. And yes organization is key. I have worked in to many shops that were poorly set up and filthy to have to deal with that on my own time.
You better get another build going in there before the wife takes the second half. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
She is already threatening to park her shitbox BMW in there when it rains. She knows that would equal me washing engine parts in her ensuite bathroom.
Do they make safety toe slippers? They should. Also, a 10lb propane bottle and a $50 fire-stool heat my little shop up just fine.
Picking away at little stuff. Hood rods and door fitting. Took the time to fix the roof corners and get it bolted on properly.
I love the attitude and the philosophy. I love what you are doing. This is a picture of what I did in my back yard as a kid in 1961
If you live on the coast, the following is a possibility. The old wooden hull fishing boats used to put ironwood, (that was the name they used) to protect the bow from damage when they hit a large piece of driftwood. I was told that wood was nearly impossible to work with.
I have worked with rock maple, and it is also harder when dry than a lot of the other types of wood, such as BC broad leaf maple. Rock maple has a nice honey colour. Ironwood is darker than walnut. Rock
Picking away at little projects. Mounting this, straightening that. Nothing picture worthy. And torturing myself with thoughts of a 2.5" chop. Not sure if it would compromise the driveability to much. I am to big and stiff to sit on the floor and this ain't no street rod with powersteering and an automatic.
Looks interesting, but really those bends on the exhaust tubes are quite extreme, have you tested this yet? The intake runners are long, and with a square type log intake, again have you run this set-up, if so how is it running and preforming?
I.5"-2" would get rid of the tall cab look and still not be very noticeable. I'm going to do this to mine to get it just right. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Beating the shit out drivers door today. The hinges were braise welded on. Not all old hotrods were done well.
