Projects Cheap ass 34 pick up

Timing set and carb adjusted. Seems to develop a weird stumble just off idle when it's warm. Not sure what that is.
Needs another leaf in the rearand one in the front. It should hopefully stiffen it up a bit. I'm getting a lot of body roll. It's got So Cal gas shocks in the rear but they don't seem to be working very well. I will likely swap them out to P&J hydraulic in the fall.

I took this at my friend Steve's place the other day. He has a AA truck restored as a tow truck with an antique hand crank winch done in full White rose gasoline colours. He actually tows the T roadster pick up behind it.

 

So I finally figured out my charging issue last night. The rebuilt 60 Chrysler alternator was defective. The internal fan grabbed the field wire and sawed it off. Cost me a nos voltage regulator and a starter.
Got the new one on last night and everything works! Broke the pivot bolt and spent 2 hours cursing and wiggling to get the damn thing off. It was one of those things I did in a hurry to get it running.
Now it has a nice shinny bolt made out of stainless tubing with a polished acorn nut, much better.
On to the next disaster......lol

Ran the truck across the weigh scales.
690 kg front 1521 pounds.
680 kg rear. 1499 pounds
3021 pounds.
Surprised that it's almost perfect 50/50 weight bias

 

I'm surprised it weights that much.

 

Weigh all the individual pieces. You'll be surprised how heavy some little parts can be.

 

Mine was 3062 with a full tank of gas, on the same scale! The extra 40lbs must be the generator!

Finally got the hood mounted, bodywork done and painted.! @Runnin shine
The hold downs are modified gate hardware and some chunks of and old box hinge. Good enough for Burt Monroe, good enough for me. They will get painted black once I have them bent into the best position I can find.

Had to add some brass bushing at the cowl. The steel rods on the sheet metal squeak like crazy!

I agonized over the rear wheel placement for a while when I was doing the original frame. It took several tries to get it right. The wheel arch is not symmetrical.

My friend @29highboy got the interior stitched up Thursday night. Turned out great! Used the material from a free couch and love seat.
He "Porn couch interior " lives and feels great! Adds a finished look and feel.
