It’s hard to believe and seems more than coincidence that I retired from the “biz” just a short while ago and quit making the monthly payments on the storage shed that held a lot of old worn out set props. Somehow “Trusty Rusty the dirty love couch” winds up under your tired butt. The truck is a class act but your just nasty.
Hahaha! Jeremy said it makes him smell nachos and ass every time he sees it.!! It is the cheap ass 34 after all..... did ya all think I was kidding?
Cracked both front spring bushings in the spring. Not sure how I managed that. Maybe too much weight. I'm going to replace them with oil impregnated bronze ones. It wanders a bit with loose bushings and no panhard.
That could be real messy...the Shakedown continues...remember that weird sound you heard the other day...
I never heard of the bushings cracking before. That's why they are made of soft stuff just supposed to moosh a little.
These are your typical street rod plastic ones. Not sure why they cracked. Both did it right on top. I could see if they did it where the gap in the leaf spring was. Bronze will fix it.
Oh. plastic hot rod stuff AMT, Monogram, or Revell? Put a long wire on the cap so you can hear it dragging on the road when it comes off.
I'm trying to get at least a couple of inches on the roadster but that may just give it more of a head start?
After my 46’ front spring settled I had an inch before it bottomed on the upper shock mounts Hard enough to rip them off the frame. Definitely gonna be notching the frame on the A which has way less room to play with before it hits
My axle bottoms on the front spring plate. I put a streetrod plasma cut one on instead of a cast one. It gained my almost 3/8"
So you have to add a leaf or two...or is the spring too wide or short?... the shackles from what I understand sit at around 45 degrees or so under load with all my very little knowledge of such things...any Death Wobble...?
No wobble of any sort. It drives awesome! Shackles are at a perfect angle. I might need to replace the whole spring. It's probably just sagged out too much. I am reluctant to do that because it sits nicely.
So all that being said you should probably go do some duke brothers stuff with that truck and send me the video to share haha
Two broken bushing hats. Not sure why. I replaced them with bronze . I will likely replace the shackles themselves this winter. Not a big fan of plastic.
That’s where mine failed as well. I was picturing it in the barrel part. It wasn’t uniform just the rear facing ones and not all of them. I do drive the car hard and hit massive pot holes occasionally as well so I’ll just list them as a wear item and move on
Yeah you’ve driven around the block like ten times they shouldn't be busted I’d replace them like you did too
