It is so cool to see it on the road, study it, and know it's story. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Well ladies and gentlemen I think we can call this one done. The truck still needs side windows and a bunch of tinkering but I'm on to other projects.

Should be fun! I will start a thread once I make some actual progress.

Thanks for taking us along. It has been a great build with great results. Are you ready to start on my roadster now? I'm not getting anywhere. :D

No....His roadster...I think we're jumping to the early 60s...but that may have changed...we shall see...:)

Good on you for doing the walk in Hotrod Pickup @dumprat and having us all along for the ride...Quite a Milestone...

I'm enjoying your adventure too...and you are moving ahead...no pressure...

You have snakes you see...so the dynamics are somewhat different...you have to work a bit, then peak over the shoulder...oh!!!...and then there's wood...:)...LOTS of wood...but its worth it...to the audience...I do understand a wish to be closer to others for a chat in the shop or help out...meeting some distant Hambers recently at a Show was a pretty neat experience...but virtual is the status quo here for the most part and that's a close second to a local connection...;)

Love the 'finish'... Was thinking about brush painting my '27 Hiboy touring, '32 rails, DeSoto hemi. Pretty sure now. Gonna do it.
Also very much like your steering wheel. (I have a close resemblance, a 15-1/2" 4 spoke plastic/rubber rim from Limeworks. Was after a 3 spoke, but everybody's out of stock. That 4 spoke sure looks good!)

    Thanks @Atwater Mike

The finish needs a really good wetsand and repainted. I did this coat in November in an unheated garage, not ideal but good enough from 50'. I haven't done anything with the truck this winter as I have been busy with other projects. I want to put in a new oil pump and have to pull the heads and clearance the push rod holes. I'm not looking forward to that. Might change the front shocks to shorter ones. They bottom out.
Poor truck needs a bunch of maintenance (which I'm horrible at keeping up on).

On the way to a car show in august I had to see how far I could push it. With the speedo which is just a shade slow(about 5%) I had it up to 105mph. That's a rush! Everything gets quiet at about 95.

Truck still had LOTS of balls at that point, I ran out.

Not really sure how fast it will go. I was at about 1/2 throttle at 100.

    Happy new year everyone!

IMG_1423.JPG Pulled the front wheels and bearings today. These went over 108 mph. They have very bad rust lines and are in failure. Scary actually.

By the marks on the races I'm guessing these bearings sat for quite a while. Definitely a "skid marks in the skivvies" moment!:D

Good thing they had lots of grease in them.
