I'm not one to put modern seats in a vintage car unless I literally have nothing else to put in. That said. I'm of the school that there's zero point in building a car unless it's actually going to get driven.....as in you calculate oil changes by mileage not time. So if a later set would mean the difference between an occasional Sunday drive vs the car being a regular sight about town I say do the newer seats
A vote for high back seats. I was 78 miles from home. No whiplash. I was able to drive it home. Russ p.s. The insurance company totaled this car .
Mine started with Fiero seats, but I didn't like the high back/headrest. A friend acquired a '36 Buick touring car project with 2 buckets, He wanted a bench seat for it. I got them, removed the headrests and as I removed the plastic side trim, discovered a pentastar indicating Mopar lineage. A Dodge guy I know thinks Diplomat/Caravelle, from the mid 8os. Mex blankets & good to go! As Laidback Lenny used to say " 100 mph down the freeway, no one will ever know."
I missed this cheap seat discussion back then. ****, man, whatever gets a car on the road sometimes. I remember driving around sitting on a bucket.
