When I recieved the Nugget from Bubba it had a old sign tossed in the back for a bed. It worked but read RV PARKING! Know how much the proper wood kit cost I decided to take the low road aka low budget.
I have $15.00 invested in the bed so far. Im gonna paint it as well but have decided on a color. Any help? enjoy the pics and my new flooring ake truck bed!

I'm voting for a coat of Urethane and run it.

go clearcoat..you can always paint it.besides, the clear will work as a primer for the wood to cover with less coats of paint.

the pictures make it look better then it is I think.
I used a sheet of plywood cut down and drilled a hole for the extra tank hose..then ran to home depot and got some trim piece for the edges. I gues there for base boards in your home.
oh and a box of wood screws!

    That looks really good.
I've dyed wood before with aniline shoe dye, it comes in a million different colors. You can clear coat it with urethane and it looks like candy apple.

Toss a couple of old tires on it so it don't blow away when the winds kick up!

Don't forget to do both sides! Keep an eye on the bottom side if you plan to drive it in weather much.

its a cheap plywood bed...who cares if it rots in a year. Ill build another! hahaahh
its in there now and aint comeing back out

  22. Hey Mike. Looks good. A good Sapr Urethane will hold up good. What's under the wood? If there is any bare metal under the wood, the wood will hold water, and rot out the bedfloor. Major rust problem... I'd treat the bottom side of the wood if possible...
Speaking of rot, You should see the bikes here! The ocean water has fucked everything up good. We lost our carport here at the condo 2 weeks ago. The aluminum cases on the bikes are all corroded to shit. I went out today to go for a ride and the clutch cable snapped! Talk about corrosion, Florida is bad!
How's the trailer coming? I'll stop by and get those hubcaps soon...

I've got a sheet of plywood fora bed also.I was thinking of using stick-on floor tiles to cover it. They are about $1 sqft (or less) They come in 1 ft square tiles and come in a lot of diferent looks and patterns

You may spray the underside w/ Rubberized undercoating. How about some old pic's of '50's ride's and pin-up gal's cleared over? An old pic of the Nugget casino and some cocktail napkin's, poker chip's, ect. would be an idea.

Oh shit! I thought the post title said something about Cheap Trick and Nugent. I personally like Live at Budokhan. And the 'Nuge never disappoints. Must've been your Joe Dirt avatar.

Oh yeah, the bed is a budget rodder's wet dream! Looks good.
