I have two sets. both disscolor instantly. I painted the inside with hi temp header paint still didn't help.

  3. I used a set of these, and they also turned blue immediately. In talking to the vendor, I found out 201 stainless was used. I will say the flanges are of good thickness, all welds tig welded, and they have held up well. I think the price point was about that.

OK so they turned blue... so what.

  5. A can of high temp black paint can fix the blueing issue.
For $115 bucks , concensus is the quality is pretty good, if you don’t really need chrome why the heck not!!

up here used headers depending on brand and application sell for roughly 100-200 bucks on average.

I bought a set of cheap stainless flathead headers. The headers were fine, but the fasteners they came with were all metric. How can that happen?

    Maybe "cheap" was a clue?

The headers were just fine, thank you. A quick trip through my fastener collection and I had them installed.

The point here is why would they make good, serviceable headers and then ship them with the incorrect fasteners? It makes no sense at all.

  10. A lot of stuff that comes out of China for the North American market , weird things can happen with hardware .

16mm fasteners (5/8ths) not a common size in metric but it is common in 5/8th but with metric threads or I find larger nuts and bolts 29mm 33mm 37mm etc. Metric stuff that simply does not exist in North America but they do “convert” to an imperial size. Again with metric threads.
I think it’s China’s way of making there stuff seem more “normal” and compatible with imperial sizes , but all they are really doing is muddying the waters between metric and imperial more.
And as far as your hardware goes it was probably just junk hardware anyways that cost them 0.98 cents , but they supplied “something”with the headers.

Or it could be that the outfit that was contracted to build the headers was adequately checked out by the American Company that ordered them who did not do an adequate check on the company they contracted to to package and ship them.

Those flathead headers with metric bolts were for one of those French flatheads huh?
