I've been wanting to do an update on Cory for a few months, but I figured I'd wait until we visited his school......

Last fall I got a letter from this kid named Cory and was completely blown away. I posted it on the Hamb and the response was incredible... It inspired people from all over the world to respond with letters of their own and other neat items. Cory recieved stuff from as far away as Australia!

    It was Kick ***.

I want to personally thank everyone who responded to Cory's letter. It Means alot to me. It really does. THANK YOU!!

I am still amazed, not only by how cool it is, and how honered I am to have recieved the letter, but the response from you guys here on the Hamb. It's AWSOME! I can't even believe it.

In my reponse to Cory I sent him a bunch of Bleed junk, a MFS dvd and mentioned that I could bring the roadster to show and tell sometime... Cory's dad Damian told me that they watched the dvd and listened to the music in cl***.....
    hahahaha........ Wierd. Lucky kids?

Cory's teacher, Ms. Walsh, got invoved and the "show and tell" evolved into a car show that Cory planned and organised at his school. We set a date, I made some calls, and Cory made posters to promote the show. He had to make anouncements to promote it as well.... Even some of the local papers showed up.

So this past Monday a bunch of us took off work to participate in Cory's Hot Rod Show at
    Section Elementary School.

    It was fantastic.

It was a neat show featuring....

-Cory and his dad's bagged 51 Chevy

-Jakers 27 Roadster (Now known as the Gross Rod)

    -Cheater Mike's 32 Chevy Coupe

    -Cheater Chris's Chopped Shoebox

    -Jonny (Jean Jacket) Cola's He****

    -My dad's Merc

    -My roadster

Thanks to everyone who came, it was great.

This is the origional letter Cory sent me and the one from his teacher...

After he recieved all the stuff he sent this letter and picture to me, along with a response from his teacher.......

Cory and his dad came to the shop and thanked me in person for the response from the Hamb. Everyone, Cory, his parents and teachers were all floored.

The kids loved the cars, but the teachers HATED the He****.

It seems Young Jonny Jean Jacket forgot that he had foul stickers on the back window...... DUMB***. hahaha

    The teacher was pissed....... oops.

A little construction paper and it was all good.

The kids sure dug that goofy *** He**** though....... especailly when Jonny brought out the bearded head we bought at the swap meet.....

That head rules, it kind of looks like Junkyard dog.......

Some little girl walked by Jakers roadster and said "That ones' gross"

    hahahahahaha Gross Rod.

Cheater Mike flirted with the girls....... luckily they were smart enough to shut him down. He posed in Jakes roadster with this girl and she asked him why he smelled like spaghetti.................

BobBLEED, you are the nicest, most kind hearted guy I've never had the pleasure to meet! Some day, maybe I will get to meet you.
I wish I would have known about this when it was going on, I would have done anything I could to help.

As the father of a severly Autistic son, I KNOW that you've made a wonderful impression on Cory. Your karma container must be overflowing!!!!!:)

I'm not ashamed to tell you that reading about this did bring tears to my eyes, and it took a while to turn off the waterworks. It must of been because of how Cory was refering to you as his friend in his letters. The world is a better place because of people like you!

What a wonderful way to show kindness to other human beings, especially
those with mental handicaps. Please keep us posted on your corospondence's
with Cory, it really made my day! And thanks to all the Cheaters who helped out, as well as everyone else involved.

If your ever in Ca./ central coast area, it would be my pleasure to treat you and yours to dinner and all the beers you can drink!

That's a really cool thing you did, Bob. I have 2 little boys and I am very aware of how the smallest, most insignificant things can sometimes be the things that count for kids. I remember that from my own childhood. What you did was huge. What's more I bet you had a blast doing it. Sometimes we have to just take a little time to think about what really matters.

On another point, WHY THE HELL ARE YOUR PICS ALWAYS SO BIG? I need a wide screen computer.

Very Cool!!, I wish That **** happened when I was at school. Always great to help the kids out and give them the torch to burn for future rodders.
I try to get my daughter out in the garage and help all the time.
