Bob, this may well be the greatest event I have had the pleasure of reading about on the HAMB. I want to thank you for your efforts. You rule.

It was one of the funnest days I have had in a long time. Thanks Bob for letting us come. Thanks Cory for inviting us. I even had some 4 foot tall kid shoot a basket over me and tell me to bring it on. I punched him in the face, because I dont take loosing very well.

    some highlights:
-some little kid CheaterMike provoked into asking Johny Cola if he was older than him
-me dribbling a ball around like I wore a helmet and rode the short bus.
-kids sitting in Cheater Mikes coupe and knocking the shift lever and rolling the car.
-Bob taking the picture pointing at Mikes nuts, and the principal taking the same picture.
-Bob carving OZZY into a desk

    Thanks again

    later on
    Chris

It's so important to get kids involved with hot rods. If they don't care, what will happen? Bob rules!! I've got to share one more pic of his Bleedster with everyone.....Frankie didn't want to get out!

Thanks for the update Bob. I was in WI Tuesday and Wednesday and as I was driving down 151 I started wondering if anything became of the show and tell day. Thats really cool.

    That day ruled!

All of the kids, teachers, etc. were so enthusiastic and fun. It's one thing to listen to 'adults' comments about your car at a car show, but listening to elementary school kids is priceless. Even that little girl that called my car 'gross' was awesome!
    Some other highlights:

-Johnny Jean Jacket dropping his KNIFE after going down the slide head first

-Cheater Mike playing Simon Sez with second graders

    -tether ball

-Bob's dad getting 'in trouble' for having cigarettes on his seat

-giving high fives to a kid that was sitting in the hall for being bad

All in all it was just cool. Thanks, Bob, for letting me be part of it. I think from now on I'm only going to 'car shows' at elementary schools.

Way cool. I wish this had happened when I was in school. I also wish I could have slept with some teachers. That seems to happen now too and didn't when I was a kid either.
    I'm glad everyone digs it.
I've got a neighbor kid that there isn't much wrong with other than he is really annoying. It's not his fault though. His parents ****. His dad's an alcoholic loser and his mom just spends her time hating the dad and fighting with him. This boy and his sister basically get thrown out to wander the neighborhood all day so that they don't bug the parents. He's gonna grow up wierd and it's already started. They don't make these kids bathe or anything and we live in a nice area. Again, not his fault. I've been letting him help me work in the garage (he helped pull an engine last night and build a table). Everyone knows this kid needs some adult direction in his life and everyone says "I've got my own kids to raise, it's not my problem". I've got my own kid to raise too but it IS my problem. I know about this kid and I've got the power to work with him a little. If I know about it and don't act, I'm just as guilty. It's not been particularly rewarding for me so far but I'm hoping it will be for him and maybe his dad will realize someday why this kid is always in my garage. IT AIN'T NEVERLAND POPS but the kid needs some attention!!!
I sure haven't organized any car shows or gone to school with the kid and probably won't but I don't ever throw him out of the garage.
Bob and the Cheaters are setting the bar pretty high with doing the right thing even when it "isn't your problem". I'll bet there is a cool Cory or an annoying Dustin in every neighborhood. It does make a difference. Mad props to the Cheaters.

Don't hate the playa Bob,,,,hate the game!!! I got three #'s that day! HATER!!

Anyway,, thanks Bob for inviting us to be a part the madness as usual. I had fun. I was trying to get a basketball game going but you all forgot your gym shoes. F's for the quarter!

Johnny, you're a peice of work! Bob forgot to tell about the naked barbie with a noose around her neck in the he****. That was interesting to the kids.

I am glad I finished grade school. That lunchroom smell made me sick!

Cory is gonna grow up to look like Bob. "Come on!"

Yeah it was a great day.... I'm still excited over it.

Really the coolest part is having met Cory and his parents. His dad Damian is a ruler in his own right.... He is doing and awsome job with their 51 Chevy and Cory has been helping the whole time.... That kid was on the right path long before he met me....... Like I said, I'm just honered to be apart of it.

It was funny though, we got a tour of the school and got to sit at the desks in Corys cl***room... I immediately took a pencil and carved "OZZY" into the desk top........ Force of habbit? hahaha

Just like the 80's was..bro. Oops.

    hahahaha

I vividly remember my dad bringing the roadster to show my cl*** when I was in first grade. It's one of the only days I remember liking school..........

  15. What fun!

Kids are cool... and you are even cooler to take the time to do that show!

I just gotta ask... what did they do when they got to the part of the DVD with Ricky Tiki and the Betty?

I missed the first installment of this story somehow but I've gotta say, this is the coolest thing I've ever read on the HAMB.

Man, I can't say anything someone hasn't already said, but I gotta say it anyway, that's bad ***!

I missed the first post on this. (I'll try to go dig it up) I'm dislexic, and used to absolutely HATE reading, but I totally got into it when I discovered Hot Rod magazine! Then I couldn't read enough!! (ok, that's when pro-street was getting big, but I survived un****hed) I'm sure it would have the same effect on him and his friends. Did anyone get him a subscription to R&C or anything like that? That's kind of a gift that "keeps on giving" (some of the others might not be "tame" enough for a ten year old.)

Also, somebody could set up an amazon "wish list" for him with a bunch of cool hot rod books and folks could buy them for him (or his school library.)

I'll dig up the old post and see if I can help, this is bad ***!

Bob, you are most ***uredly guaranteed a spot in the very bosom of St.Peter at the Pearly Gates, but take a bath first.

I love you guys, I love Cheater Mike, he's one of the most handsome men I've ever met.

  30. Outstanding, gentlemen! What a great story... now that's how you leave a legacy. And I hope those playground yunguns didn't give you too many wedgies and Indian burns.

*Sniff* I don't think I've choked up like this since seeing "Brian's Song." Or maybe "Fried Green Tomatoes.":)
