When I bought this car the guy I bought it from had a list of things he wanted to do it and one was 56 merc tail lights. Well he even had a picts of them. For 3 years I have had the car I would check swap meats and Egay. Well I just cant afford them , any where from $300.00 up for **** and I really didn't like the custom look of the Nite Prowler ones. So while I was at the KKOA in Denison. I was talking with a friend ( Crawford the pin striper ) and was checking out a 56 crown vic which happend to have the tail lites on it and happened to say I would like to have some for my ranch wagon, and Crawford said I have some. Well I thought he was just joking and said ok. Much to my surprise he called tuesday and said to get over to his house, and I swear these had to have been baught in 56 !@!!! there are no flaws period!!!!! I asked how much (waiting to here around $400 ) and his reply was are you going to sell them? and I said no. So he said there yours. I like to have fell out. So what do yall think? I have some KOOL friends. Thanks Crawford.. Oh!! If I sell the car the tail lights stay with me !!!!

Keep your promise to Crawford. My buddy over Boise, Idaho way gave me a nice set of Merc Turnpike Cruiser Skirts for my 56 Fairlane project years ago. When I sold the car I gave the skirts back to my pal. Could have sold them many times but felt they were just on loan to me to use on that Fairlane.

DAMN, thats what I'm talkin about! I have been the lucky recipiant of 2 free cars in my life, a 51 ford tudor sedan and a 56 Studebaker truck that was chopped, c sectioned and had a supper straight 57 chevy bed on it (not to mention the whole truck was traight as an arrow with no rust. Well life being such as it is I could not finish the truck and had already installed a new running v8 and auto, so I just gave it back to my freind. He was cool enought to give it to me and I should be cool enough to give it back, even though I could have sold it and made a buck or two. So long story short, that is way to ****ing cool of your freind and 2 don't EVER sell those ****ing things, if you ever sell the car, keep the lights or give 'em back to you'r bud. Karma ya' know
What a score. I have seen those go over $600. And what everyone said about not selling them. I think many of us have been on the wrong side of that deal. Years ago I had a "friend" come over pleading poverty and get way deep into my cool Harley parts stash. At the next swap meet I went to he was selling the stuff. He so totally **** in his nest.
I just saw Dirty2 running down US 80 a couple hous ago, and I gotta say, the Merc lights look dang good on that car. THe pics don't do justice!
Pics dont do them any justice. These light are mint. I would almost be scared to park it anywhere. Yeah Slide the wagon is his only transportation write now so you will probably see more of it. It is a delivery parts pickin up wagon write now. . He has been doing some serious hotrodding the last 3 weeks. I am really jeoulous. His dodge work truck is in the shop. Getting somewhat old though. He flattened the drivers side lake pipe there on 635 in Mesquite were there doing all the road work. Oh well the price you pay to drive and enjoy them.
I was just noticing when I saw that wagon pulling off at the Beltline Rd. exit how low it sits. My car ain't near that low and I s****e stuff all the time. I had Slide Jr. with me, and he recognized the car, but gets "ranch" and "wrench" confused. So he asked if that ranch wagon did it's own wrenching! I told him I bet Dirty2 wishes it did!
I see what you mean. Totally cool, you should buy Crawford a steak dinner for that one...! Friends like that are hard to come by.
