Since it first hit the streets in March 2008, my hot rod has been driven year round with the exception of March this year. I took it apart to clean it up for Autorama. I've been in the rain, snow, even a 12 degree 70 mile round trip for a HAMB breakfast in January. The point is I drive it in some pretty ****py weather which we get pleanty of here in Michigan. I decided to get a removable roof for when its actually nice around here. Its weird having a roof now, but it stayed in place at 60 mph down the highway headed home from the upholstery shop so I dig it, plus I think it makes the car looka little more complete:rolleyes::eek::D.

I found out that they won't work with their stock throttle shafts and the Eelco linkage. I've been talking to ****ster27 and he showed me a way around it and it involves me cutting off part of the boss that the throttle shaft comes out of. So far I've cut two of them off without incident. After I get the other four removed I have to talk to him again about my next step. So its still in the works and I plan on doing the 6X2 thing over the winter when I need a break from my AV8 roadster.

how far do the cops let you go running no fenders in the rain. Thats a big no no up here and one of the major reasons they use the fender law against us.

It rained the whole way home last night, about 30 miles. In almost two years I've been pulled over twice, both times for driving like an idiot. No cop has ever said anything about the open headers or lack of fenders. I've been right next to a state cop in traffic and even they don't seem to mind. So I guess the answer is until I run into that one cop that has to be a ****head:D

Yeah, I hear ya. It wasn't by design, it was was my first time building headers and they didn't turn out quite as good as I had hoped. Eventually the car will get painted and when that happens hew headers are definitely on the to do list.

Cool change for the better I say. No way could I deal with the weather you have there and the snow would do me in for sure. The old rod looks better also with the new top.

Well, now that you have a top all that is left is side windows and you can pick up that smoken deal I talked to you about the air conditioning unit I have. Probably better forget about the 6 deuces it's a ***** to hook up cruise control to them.
BTW, that exhaust stain on the side can be taken care of by welding a plate over the end of that cone and the reduced noise level will allow you to put a highend stereo and few 16" speakers in the back seat. Can a full feature in STREET RODDER be far behind?
