Well I thought I'd pass this on to those that might find this interesting. I work with Ron Braun who used to drive many of the GSTA(Gopher State Timing Association) dragsters back in the day and during many conversations about the GSTA and it history I told him that this info should be up on their site. So over the past 4 or 5 months I've been working with them to redesign the site and add as much info as we could about the GSTA history, including the 8 dragsters that they campaigned, the history of many of the car clubs here in the Minneapolis, MN area and their involvement in getting drag racing started here in Minnesota, as well as info and eventually the history of the fantastic car show they have put on since the 50's. We will be updating the site on a regular basis and many of the area's are not yet finished, but there is a great story started on the history of the GSTA there that I think many would find very interesting. Check it and let me know what you think. http://www.gstarod-custom.com/
Ive noticed that their web site has gotten more interesting lately. Jennie reupholstered the seat in the twin hemi drag car when it was restored. JEFF
Yeah, I hope they will continue adding more and more info as there is a real history there. Wow, that's cool the she did that, I saw the twin when it was being restored, pretty cool. The GSTA is going to build a complete funny car at the show this year, start to finish and they plan to fire it up on Sunday, should be pretty cool. They'll do something every hour of the show and hopefully have something they can fire up on Sunday, at least that is the plan, I'll be working with Ron next week and will find out if that is still the plan.
A little "cackle" from the GSTA twin engine digger. Restored by Don Groff (on the right). Upholstered by Jen.
